Custom Leather Carry System for a Zombie Tools New Hellion.
This leather carry system allows use of the kydex sheath that comes with the blade. I used a heavy piece of veg tanned leather for the body and one inch retaining straps that attach the kydex sheet to the body. I also used 1” steel roller buckles with the retaining straps.
The backing and shoulder/baldric of the carry system were made using 9-10 oz veg t
anned leather.
The sheath is attached to the 1 1/2” 9-10 oz veg tanned leather shoulder/baldric strap using two 1” solid steel D rings and two brass 1” chap snaps.
The buckle on the shoulder/baldric strap is brass. I also added one 3/4" solid steel D ring to the back of the body so the sheath could be carried in a verity of positions.
I applied two costs of leather finish to the body and straps and hand sewed the pieces together using waxed thread and a saddle stitch.
