Vintage 1968 LL BEAN Men's Maine Hunting Shoes 16" tall Size 9D U.S.A. MADE!

In Almost Excellent Used Condition, I'm offering this Nice Pair of Original. LL Bean Men's 16" Maine Hunting Shoes, in size 9D. I purchased these new in 1968, and wore them constantly, during the winter months, when I lived in the North East. Well, I moved to the Desert, and now it's time to pass them on for someone else to enjoy. I took very good care of these over the years. They were cleaned annually with Leather Conditioner and then had Leather Protector applied. There are 3 Issues: 1- In December of 1975, I slipped on some ice at the side of a creek, and sliced the rubber part of the Boot on a rock, a little below the right ankle. A local Cobbler, repaired it for me by Vulcanizing and Stitching a Leather Patch over the slice. He said it was temporary, until I was able to have Bean replace the bottom section. It's now 47 years later, and I have never had a leak, or any other problem with the "Temporary Patch". 2- The Fleece Inner Soles were pretty well worn out, so you will need a new pair of those. And 3- The last time I needed to replaced the Laces, I couldn't find the right length. So, I purchased two pair, half the length needed, and tied them together. You can see the results in my photos. They Measure 16 inches tall, from the bottom of the sole, to the top of the Boot Body, and 12 inches from the Heel to the Toe on the outside. Inside the Boot it measures 10 1/2 inches from Heel to Toe.  Like all LL Bean Hunting Shoes, these will last for years to come. These will make a fine addition to any Vintage Hunting Collection or Display.
